Dr. Heqing Huang is a Research Staff Member in Security and Privacy at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. Before joining IBM, he worked on multiple interesting research projects in various industry labs and security companies, including FireEye Lab, Knox Team at SRA, R&D of Palo Alto Networks. His current research interests are mobile and IoT security, big data for malware detection, application vulnerability fuzzing and etc. Dr. Huang has been applying various techniques (e.g., static/dyanmic program analysis, machine learning and etc.) to solve challenging cybersecurity problems. Some of the research works have been published in premium security and big data conference, including ACM CCS, Usenix security, ACSAC, ACM WiSec, IEEE BigData. His research on enterprise network security analysis has won the Best Student Paper Award in ACSAC 2011. Dr. Huang serves actively for the security research community, including TPC member for IEEE MoST 2017, ICCNS 2016-2017 and reviewers for ACM CCS, ESORICS, TISSEC Journal and etc.
Dr. Huang received his Ph.D degree (2012 - 2016.02) at the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Pennsylvania State University. He finished his Bachelor's degree with honors in Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science at Huazhong Univeristy of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China.
