profile

I'm Jacquelyn Martino, an IBM Distinguished Engineer, ACM Distinguished Engineer and artist-researcher. I innovate and build systems for real people, concentrating on emerging forms of human interaction technology, interface technologies, and computational design.

As a technologist, researcher and inventor, I'm currently at IBM were I make creative technical contributions to consumer and business products ranging in complexity from a novel presentation of financial mathematical models that ordinary people can understand to an IBM Watson culinary application that uses artificial intelligence to combine unexpected ingredients in tasty ways. I have been an IBM Master Inventor since 2011.

My ongoing art-research focus is on design computation as it relates to computational drawing and human computer interaction in an area that I define as hand-drawn computing.

I am also active in ACM/SIGGRAPH, the professional Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Graphics and Interactive Techniques.

A selection of my publications is available for download here: http://ibm.co/jmartinoPaperDownloads
