Accessibility Manager in IBM Research

As a manager in the IBM Accessibility Research team, I lead a global team of skilled accessibility professionals in Accessibility strategy, standards, tooling, testing, and enablement. My team interprets WCAG, Section 508, and other standards and enables IBM teams to create compliant offerings. We also work closely with our IBM Research colleagues to leverage AI to create a a business impact with better tools as well as a social impact through real life applications.
In the past I have worked within the Watson organization to leverage AI capabilities within their offerings.
I have worked with early Watson customers to understand how AI could be applied to the healthcare space.
I have worked with cities in the Western half of the united states to understand how analytics and research technology such as Deep Thunder could improve services for their citizens.
I have worked with higher education clients to build centralized compute resources to either predict the weather, analyze genomes, or create new chip designs.
I have worked with National Genographic and Spencer Wells to map the human genome's migration history through the National Genomre project.
I hold a PhD from Florida State University in Experimental Nuclear Physics were my research was on the recoil polarization of electroproduced L(1116).
