For the past several years, I've been researching the application of flash memory to storage systems. I started this work as a member of project Quicksilver which created a 1 Million IOPS storage system in 2008. Since 2008 I've been the lead software architect on our storage tiering and server flash caching projects. In IBM's products this work is known as Easy Tier and Easy Tier Server.
Prior to focusing on flash I worked on distributed caching, log structured arrays, mainframe storage and RAID arrays, and storage software for IBM mainframes.
