Ruchi Mahindru is a Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM T. J. Watson Research. Her research interests are in knowledge extraction, question answering, semantic and data analytics. She received her B.S. degree in Computer Science and Accounting, and her M.S. degree in Computer Science from City University of New York in 2003 and 2005, respectively. 
Since joining IBM, she has led several successful research projects around Virtual Assistants, Data Analytics, and Monitoring and Event Management. She has received various IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Awards and IBM Research Division Awards. 
Ruchi is also the Global Technical Lead for IBM Technology Support Services (TSS) AI Virtual Assistants Initiative, where she defines the strategy and technical roadmap for GTS TSS, and leads differentiating technology innovations. In this role, she architected a scalable solution for creating Virtual Assistants for Technical Support (VATS). In 2014, Ruchi received the Technology Rising Star Award at the 19th Women of Color STEM Conference. She has over a 120 filed or issued patents and 15 technical papers in top IEEE, ACM and AI conferences
