Sarthak Dash           

Sarthak joined IBM in Feb 2015. He is currently a member of the Knowledge Technologies group in the IBM Research AI. He also interned in the same group during the Summer of 2014. 

His interest includes designing efficient deep learning algorithms and representation learning strategies for working with structured/semi-structured resources such as Knowledge Graphs, Taxonomies, Relational Tables, etc for NLP applications. Furthermore, his interests lie in an efficient combination of traditional symbolic-based knowledge representations with deep learning-based approaches. 

Prior to joining IBM, Sarthak got his MS in CS in the field of Machine Learning from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) at Columbia University, 2013-2015. During his time there, Sarthak worked on a plethora of projects, most notable ones being Social Network Analysis over ScreenPlays and Using Determinantal Point Process (DPPs) based sampling methods for Active Learning at Center For Computational Learning Systems (CCLS) @ Columbia University.

Before that, Sarthak worked as a Software Engineer for 2 years (2011-2013) for the hedge fund D.E. Shaw India Pvt Ltd. 

Sarthak received his B.E. in Computer Science and MS in Mathematics from BITS Pilani, India.
