I am a Research Staff Member in the Science to Solutions group at the IBM Almaden Research Center. My current project is OMXWare, a cloud platform to study microbial life at scale. I started at Almaden as part of the Computer Science group, where my focus was on data integration and query optimization. I had the good fortune to be a key member of the Garlic project, a heterogeneous data integration platform that became the core of the InfoSphere Federation Server, and led to many happy years for me at the IBM Silicon Valley Lab as a member of the InfoSphere product development team. I have a master's degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin.
