Pauline Ollitrault joined IBM Research – Zurich as a PhD student in 2018 as a member of the Quantum technology & computing group, the focus of which is to develop and analyze new quantum algorithms for a wide range of applications, such as quantum chemistry as well as optimizations and machine-learning algorithms for finance or supply-chain management. Pauline's thesis research is about simulation for chemistry.
Pauline holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and a M.Sc. in Molecular and Biological Chemistry from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). She wrote her Master’s thesis on “Compressed virtual orbital basis for dispersion interactions” while at UC Berkeley under Prof. Martin Head-Gordon. In the course of her studies, she also spent an exchange year at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
