Enrico Brugnolotto is a Pre-Doctoral Researcher working on III-V semiconductors in the Science and Technology area.
He obtained his BSc and MSc in Materials Science at the Università degli Studi di Padova (Italy). During his Master's, he spent an Erasmus semester studying Nanoscience at Aarhus Universitet (Denmark) and 2 months working on his thesis at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (Germany). He graduated in 2019 with top marks and cum laude, with a thesis regarding the mapping of thermally induced stress in GaN LEDs, using spectroscopic tools such as Raman spectroscopy.
He started working on his PhD at IBM Research Zurich in September 2020, as part of the HORIZON2020-funded DESIGN-EID project. In this project he mainly focuses on aspects related to III-V materials epitaxial growth on silicon, TEM analysis, and development of a machine learning algorithm for defect classification.
