Marie Salva joined IBM - Research Zurich in 2018. She is working in the Precision diagnostics group as part of her European Industrial Doctorate project in collaboration with the Institute for Biological Interfaces at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany.
Marie's research focuses on developing new concepts for biological assays and microfluidic devices for point-of-care diagnostic applications.
Previously, Marie was a visiting scholar at the Molecular and Microscale Bioengineering Laboratory of Columbia University in New York.
In 2017, she received from the Grand-Est Region in France an Innovation Award for work performed in neurophysiology and biomechanics in a spin-off of the Free University of Brussels.
Marie studied advanced mathematics and physics in France before joining Télécom Physique Strasbourg, where she received her engineering diploma with a specialization in Healthcare IT in 2017. She also received a dual Master of Sciences in micro and nanoelectronics from the University of Strasbourg.
