Research Staff Member at the Cloud and Computing Infrastructure at IBM Research Zurich. Currently, I'm working on an efficient distributed NoSQL data store optimized for NVMe storage (Flash- and 3DXP-based SSDs), which we have released as an experimental service in the IBM Cloud. Recently, I'm interested in accelerating large scale machine learning systems, and am involved in the Snap ML project.
Prior joining IBM, I did my PhD at the CArD group at the University of Edinburgh, supervised by Marcelo Cintra. My thesis focused on Thread-Level Speculation for multi-threaded applications running on a many-core shared memory processor, and on power management of such applications. Before that, I completed my undergraduate studies at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) with a major in Computer Science.
