Rui Hu is a post-doctoral researcher of the Smart System Integration group at IBM Research – Zurich. With a background in machine learning, computer vision and data science, she is currently focused on developing AI engines that drive the cognitive IoT flatforms for digital health in Activage, and CAir projects. She also works on machine learning algorithms that support sensor design of electronic tongue technology in the Hypertaste project.
Before joining IBM Research in June 2018, Rui was a scientific collaborator in the Digital Humanities Institute at EPFL since 2017, she was a research associate at the Idiap Rseearch Institute since 2013. Rui received her PhD degree from the Centre for Vision, Speech, and Signal Processing at Surrey University. She received both her M.Eng. and B.S. degrees in Electronic Engineering at Xidian University, China.
