His focus is on charge-state control and atomic manipulation of single molecules by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
He received his PhD from ETH Zurich, for which he was awarded the 2019 Swiss Physical Society Award in Applied Physics.
Prior joining IBM, Shadi earned his Master's degree in Physics in 2014 from the University of Campinas (Brazil), where he did an internship for half a year in the Department of Physics of the University of Basel (Switzerland).
