Chrysa is a predoctoral researcher in the Blockchain Security & Applications group supervised by Dr. Marko Vukolic and an external PhD student at the ETH Zurich in the System Security group supervised by Prof. Srdjan Capkun.
Her research focuses on distributed protocols with application to distributed ledgers. Particularly, she has been working on scalable, high performant Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus protocols, which can serve as a backbone for a real-world deployment of blockchain systems. Other areas of interest include threshold and proactive cryptosystems and incentive mechanisms.
Chrysa received her MSc in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering from ETH Zurich and her Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the National Technical University of Athens.
