Heinz Schmid           

Heinz Schmid is a Senior Engineer at the Quantum Transduction and Photonics group at IBM Research Europe – Zurich and works on projects in the area of novel material synthesis, and integration of electronic and and photonic devices on silicon.

In particular his work focuses on the integration of III-V field-effect transistors and optical detector and emitters on silicon. His activities comprises the synthesis and application of novel crystaline phases of IIIV and group IV materials, as well as interest in Weyl semimetals.
