AAAI 2021 Workshop - Reframing Diversity in AI: Representation, Inclusion and Power - overview
The AAAI 2021 Workshop on Reframing Diversity in AI: Representation, Inclusion, and Power is a one-day virtual event on February 9, 2021 at the International Conference of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence. This event will bring together academic and industrial researchers to explore, frame, and implement inclusive solutions across three topic areas:
- The use of technology to address systemic racism as a means to reduce historical barriers of opportunity
- The need for inclusion of members of key groups including Black and Latino individuals in the concept, design and testing of technical solutions
- Participation in key decision-making roles to influence all aspects of minority engagement
We thank everyone that contributed to and participated in our workshop. We would like to give a special thanks to the members of our amazing panel - Dr. Sarah Brown, Dr. Manuel Pérez Quiñones, Dr. Jeffrey Brown, and Yadira Sánchez - and our paper authors/spotlight presentation presenters!
The workshop proceedings can be accessed here: http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-2812/
