Genomics - overview
New DNA sequencing technologies are enabling us to gather information about genomes with unprecedented ease and with astonishingly low cost. This technology shift is opening the path to a revolution in biomedical investigation, both for research and clinical practice. Key to this revolution is the analytics that sit on top of the sequence data collection.
The genomics group is developing platform technologies and specific analytics to enable the translation of DNA and RNA sequencing from the research setting to clinical and public health applications. We also work in collaboration with biomedical researchers to identify the genetic basis of clinically important aspects of disease with the hope of enabling better diagnosis and treatment options.
