BRIDGE: Big Data Entity Relationships - overview

In big data paradigm various data assets are dumped in data storage without conforming to a fixed data model or schema. This makes searching or browsing data assets very difficult. One needs to query for the required data using the meta-data associated with the data assets. For efficient searching and browsing we need to extract and represent relationships among various data assets.

The problem is challenging because of the number of data assets, varieties of data assets, no fixed data model for entities, etc. In this project we specifically target the entity based relationships between structured and unstructured data assets. We aim towards developing systems to

--Link various data assets describing the same set of real-world entities.

--Quantify the relationships.

--Associating context (reasoning) for the relationships.

--Using these relationships for efficient search over data assets.
