Method and Apparatus for Representing a Group Hierarchy Structure in a Relational Database
Paul-Vlad Tatavu, Joseph Paul Wigglesworth
Patent US20200073870A1
Abstract
A computer implemented method, apparatus, system, and computer usable program product for managing a database. The process receives a request for a list of members for a given group of objects in the database. The process identifies a set of static members for the given group based on a set of records in a membership table in the database. The set of static members includes all direct static members and all indirect static members of the given group. The process identifies a set of dynamic members for the given group of objects based on a reference in a group table in the database. The set of dynamic members includes all direct dynamic members of the given group and all indirect static members of the given group. The process generates the list of members.

Patent US20180314535A1
Abstract US Patent App. 14/735,478
Determining a characteristic of a configuration file that is used to discover configuration files in a target machine, a computer identifies, using information associated with a configuration item of a machine, a candidate configuration file related to the configuration item of the machine, from among a plurality of files from the machine. The computer extracts a value of a feature of the candidate configuration file and aggregates the candidate configuration file with a second candidate configuration file related to the same configuration item identified from among a plurality of files from a second machine, based on the extracted value. The computer then determines a configuration file related to the configuration item from among the aggregated candidate configuration files based on a result of the aggregation, and determines a characteristic of the configuration file related to the configuration item.

Patent US7870594B2
Abstract hierarchy, data science, data mining, computer science
A computer implemented method, data processing system, and computer usable program code are provided for applying compliance standards to a set of computers. A set of computer groupings containing the set of computers is identified. Each computer in the set of computers is included in at least one computer group in the set of computer groupings. A set of compliance rules is identified for each of the set of computer groupings. Configuration information for the set of computers is acquired and the configuration information for each of the set of computers is compared to the set of compliance rules for each of the set of computer groupings to which each computer in the set of computers is included. Compliance results are generated for each computer in the set of computers.

Patent US20060253658A1
Abstract provisioning, information repository, database, data processing system, computer science
There is provided a method, apparatus and program product for managing shared or reusable storage volumes in a data processing system. A storage allocation pool having a plurality of storage volumes to be shared or reused by a plurality of authorized machines is created. Access to the plurality of storage volumes in the storage allocation pool by a machine of the plurality of authorized machines is enabled during a storage provisioning period and is disabled following storage de-provisioning. By providing the storage volumes in a storage allocation pool, all storage volumes in the pool can be used by a plurality of machines, and data on the storage volumes will persist even if no machine is accessing the storage volumes.
