Bio

Dr. Michiharu Kudo is a Senior Technical Staff Member and Senior Manager of Accelerated Discovery department at IBM Research - Tokyo. He has been leading and managing healthcare and life science related AI research projects for years. He has also been working with industry leaders of healthcare, life science, and insurance domains to innovate industries.

His research area is on the development of machine learning and AI technologies to create disease progression prediction models from real world data such as electronic medical records and insurance claim data. He has published many research papers on disease progression prediction technology for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, chronic kidney diseases, and clinical nutrition management. He received a Ph.D. degree from University of Tokyo in 2002. He is ACM Senior Member.
