I have worked for more than 20 years as a communications strategist for the IT, healthcare and education industries. Among my qualifications and achievements:

+ I served as key player in the development of corporate sales intranets, client-facing websites and consumer newsletters.

+ I employed mission-critical skills and fast turnaround time in the areas of speechwriting, editorial writing, grant evaluation, journalism, development, marketing, mentoring/training and audio podcasting.

I am also a published novelist (Summer Long-a-coming, Harper & Row, 1987); published non-fiction writer (The First Year of Nursing, Walker and Company, 1996); and published essayist (in Second Generation Voices, Syracuse University Press, 2001; Nothing Makes You Free, Norton, 2002; and Lost on the Map of the World, Peter Lang, 2001).

I have contributed book reviews to, The New York Times, New York Newsday, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Plain Dealer (Cleveland), The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times and Publishers Weekly.

My current project: I am working on a book about mental illness and housing issues in the Bronx.
