Dr. Asaf Adi is a Senior Manager for AI Agents at IBM Research Israel, where he leads pioneering work in enterprise-grade agentic systems. His research empowers agent developers with advanced technologies to build, debug, test, and optimize AI agents that are accurate, safe, secure, fast, and cost-efficient.
Dr. Adi and his team are tackling two major challenges in the field:
Computer Using Generalist Agents (CUGA): A generalist AI agent capable of executing a wide range of tasks across domains with high reliability. CUGA works across diverse interfaces and tools, including APIs, code, browsers, desktop environments, and operating systems, and currently ranks #1 on WebArena and AppWorld benchmarks.
AgentOps: A cutting-edge observability and analytics framework designed to support developers, testers, and operators in maintaining agentic systems. It provides actionable insights, recommendations, and automated optimizations to enhance agent performance and reliability.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Adi led research teams focused on AI-powered Business Automation, and earlier, on IoT and wearable technologies, delivering innovative solutions across industries.
Dr. Adi is deeply passionate about Innovation That Matters, driving business transformation through emerging technologies. His approach combines ideation, first-of-a-kind customer engagements, and the transition to commercial products. At IBM, this means operating like a startup within a global enterprise, requiring a blend of strategic thinking, technical leadership, market insight, and continuous learning to deliver impactful, forward-looking solutions.
