Ryuki Tachibana is the senior manager of IBM Research AI of Tokyo. He received his B.E. and M.E. in aerospace engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 1996 and 1998, and his Dr. Eng. degree from Osaka University in 2007. Since he joined IBM Japan in 1998, his main research interests have been in the fields of cognitive technologies including digital watermarking, text-to-speech synthesis (TTS), automatic speech recognition (ASR), image recognition, cognitive robotics, and machine learning. In 2003, he was awarded the Digital Watermarking Industry Gathering Event's Best Paper Award at Security and Multimedia Contents V of Electronic Imaging 2003. His work includes research and development of Speech To Text and Text To Speech services of Watson. He is also a visiting professor at Toyohashi University of Technology.
